Plain-language summary: Unbothered - Daily Quotes does not require an account or sign-in. Reading preferences and the notification schedule are stored on your device. Supabase supplies content and aggregate love counts; Apple and RevenueCat handle purchases. PostHog receives product-interaction events linked to a generated installation identifier, including selected topics, reading interactions and approximate IP-derived location. TikTok advertising measurement is described below. We do not sell your personal information.

Unbothered - Daily Quotes is an iOS application developed and operated by Ameya Labs LLC, a Limited Liability Company registered in the State of Washington, United States ("Ameya Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Unbothered - Daily Quotes and visit our website at ameyalabs.io (collectively, the "Services").
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at contact@ameyalabs.io.
We want to be explicit about what we do not collect. The App has no account creation or login. Analytics identifiers and associated event histories are described in Section 2.8. We do not collect:
When you tap the heart icon on a line, the App sends an anonymous request to increment a public, aggregate counter for that specific line — for example, "12,847 people felt this." This request contains only the numeric identifier of the line itself. It does not contain your name, device identifier, account, or any other information that identifies you. This data is stored using Supabase, our backend database provider. See supabase.com/privacy.
To prevent the same device from inflating a count by tapping repeatedly, the App keeps a local, on-device record of which lines you've already loved. This local deduplication record is not uploaded as a list to the aggregate-counter service. Individual love and unlove actions also produce separate PostHog events with the line identifier, as described in Section 2.8.
The App periodically downloads its current library of lines from Supabase so that content can be updated without requiring an app update. The App does not send your reading preferences to fetch this library. As with other network requests, the service receives connection information such as an IP address when processing the request.
The App offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. To verify and manage entitlement status (i.e., confirming that a purchase or subscription is active so premium features unlock), the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription management platform. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier to your installation of the App and receives purchase/transaction data from Apple's App Store to confirm entitlement status. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other directly identifying information we hold, because we don't hold any. See revenuecat.com/privacy and Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
If you opt in during onboarding (or later in Settings), the App schedules a local notification once per day. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely by iOS on your device. The App does not use push notifications, does not register a push token, and no notification content or schedule is ever sent to or generated by a remote server on a per-user basis — the schedule is computed and stored locally.
The App requests only one optional device permission:
| Permission | Why It Is Needed | Data Leaves Device? |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | To deliver the optional once-daily local notification | No — scheduled and delivered on-device by iOS |
If you contact us for support at contact@ameyalabs.io or support@ameyalabs.io, we receive the information you include in your message, such as your name and email address. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and do not add it to any marketing list.
The App uses PostHog, with a United States ingestion endpoint, to understand onboarding, feature use, subscription offers and reading engagement. Events include app lifecycle activity, screens and buttons used, selected onboarding topics and updated topic preferences, reading identifiers for love/unlove and sharing actions, card-style changes, archive interactions, purchase product identifiers and outcomes, and purchase error messages. The SDK also sends technical metadata such as device model, operating system, app version and timestamps. Events are associated with a generated installation identifier so interactions from the same installation can be analyzed over time.
PostHog receives the IP address used to connect to its service and uses IP-based geographic enrichment to estimate location, such as country, region, city, postal area, time zone, and approximate coordinates. These estimates describe the network connection and may be inaccurate; they do not come from GPS or device location services. Geographic properties are associated with analytics events and their installation identifier.
We do not send your name or email address as part of these analytics events. However, a persistent installation identifier, event history and approximate location can constitute personal information. We describe this data as pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous. We use PostHog data for product analytics, not advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites. See PostHog's privacy policy.
Analytics initializes when the app launches. The current app does not provide an analytics opt-out switch. Contact us about applicable privacy rights as described in Section 9.
If you install the App after seeing or interacting with an advertisement for it on TikTok, the App uses TikTok's App Events SDK to measure whether that ad campaign was effective — for example, confirming that an install can be attributed to a specific ad, and whether a purchase followed. This measurement relies entirely on Apple's SKAdNetwork framework, a privacy-preserving mechanism built into iOS: it does not use your Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, and cannot be used to build a profile of you or track you across other companies' apps or websites. The SDK also observes completed in-app purchases (via Apple's StoreKit) as a signal of ad-campaign quality; this observation is not linked to your name, email, or any other information that identifies you. We do not use TikTok's SDK for retargeting, audience-building, or any tracking beyond this anonymous, aggregate measurement. See TikTok's Business Products (Data) Terms and Privacy Center — Ads and Your Data.
We use the limited information described above for the following purposes only:
We do not use any collected information for building advertising profiles, retargeting, or any purpose other than those listed above.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
We retain information only for as long as necessary:
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at contact@ameyalabs.io.
Ameya Labs LLC is based in the United States. Our third-party service providers (Supabase, RevenueCat, PostHog, and TikTok) may process data in the United States or other countries. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, please be aware that these providers rely on approved transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses to lawfully transfer data internationally. By using the App, you acknowledge that aggregate, entitlement, pseudonymous analytics, and ad-attribution data may be transferred to and processed outside your country of residence.
Unbothered - Daily Quotes is not directed at children under the age of 13 and its content and humor are intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information (for example, via a support email), please contact us at contact@ameyalabs.io and we will promptly delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your information:
You can request information about what data we have collected about you and how it is used.
You can request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
You can request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
We do not sell your personal information. Contact us to exercise applicable rights to object to or restrict processing. Contacting us does not itself disable analytics on your device.
(EU/UK) You can request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
(EU/UK) You can object to processing of your data based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@ameyalabs.io. We will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. Because the App has no sign-in, your email alone may not identify an installation record. We may request information needed to locate the relevant record and verify your request.
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the preceding 12 months. To submit a CCPA request, contact us at contact@ameyalabs.io.
If you are located in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our lawful basis for processing the anonymous aggregate and entitlement data described in this policy is our legitimate interest in operating the App's core features (the love counter and premium entitlement unlocking). This processing is limited, anonymous where possible, and does not outweigh your fundamental rights. For support communications, our lawful basis is contract performance or, where no contract exists, your consent in reaching out to us. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are located in a jurisdiction with data protection laws not specifically addressed above (for example, Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD, or Australia's Privacy Act), we intend to honor the rights and obligations described in this policy consistently with those laws to the extent they apply to us. Contact us with any jurisdiction-specific request and we will respond accordingly.
Ameya Labs LLC does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
The App's Settings screen and paywall may link out to this page, our Terms of Use, Apple's subscription management page, and a support email address. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of any third-party destination and are not responsible for their privacy policies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — including if we add new third-party services such as analytics or crash reporting in a future version of the App. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
