Plain-language summary: PrintWave processes all your documents entirely on your device and sends them directly to your printer. We never see or store your document content. We collect only anonymous crash reports and usage analytics to improve the app, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
PrintWave is an iOS application developed and operated by Ameya Labs LLC, a Limited Liability Company registered in the State of Washington, United States ("Ameya Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the PrintWave app and visit our website at ameyalabs.io (collectively, the "Services").
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at contact@ameyalabs.io.
We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:
All documents you select for printing are processed entirely on your device and transmitted directly to your printer over your local Wi-Fi network. This data never passes through our servers.
We use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to collect crash reports when the app experiences an unexpected error. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crashlytics may collect:
This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Crashlytics: policies.google.com/privacy.
We use PostHog to collect anonymous analytics about how the app is used. This helps us understand which features are valuable and improve the user experience. PostHog may collect:
We configure PostHog to use anonymous device-level events only. We do not attach any personally identifiable information to analytics events. PostHog's privacy policy applies: posthog.com/privacy.
If you contact us for support at contact@ameyalabs.io or support@ameyalabs.io, we receive the information you include in your message, such as your name and email address. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and do not add it to any marketing list.
The app offers optional in-app purchases processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple's privacy policy governs the purchase transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy. We may receive from Apple only confirmation that a purchase was made (e.g., that a user has unlocked premium features), not any payment details.
The app requests access to the following device capabilities. All data accessed through these permissions is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
| Permission | Why It Is Needed | Data Leaves Device? |
|---|---|---|
| Local Network | To discover nearby Wi-Fi printers using Bonjour/mDNS | No — stays on your local network |
| Photo Library | To let you select photos for printing | No — sent directly to your printer |
| Camera | To scan physical documents for printing | No — sent directly to your printer |
| Contacts | To let you print contact cards | No — processed on-device only |
| Calendars | To let you print calendar views | No — processed on-device only |
| Reminders | To let you print reminder lists | No — processed on-device only |
The app installs a system share sheet extension that allows you to send documents from other apps directly to PrintWave. The extension receives only the file or content you explicitly choose to share and passes it to the app for printing. No data from the share extension is transmitted to our servers.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
We do not use any collected information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than those listed above.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
